Learn while you lead

Your training at Sandhurst and beyond gives you leadership training and experience that you'll use from day one.

You don't need to have a degree to become an Army officer - in fact, you can earn as part of your job.

As an Army officer, you’ll keep learning throughout your career - in ways that feel nothing like civilian life.

You’ll build recognised qualifications as you lead teams, take on real responsibility and work in environments that challenge you to think differently. Whether you join straight from school or bring specialist skills with you, you’ll have clear routes to earn degrees and professional accreditation while doing a job that matters.

Some do join without [a degree] and secure them whilst serving.

Specialist Qualifications

f you're already trained or qualified as a Doctor, Vet, Nurse, Dentist or Lawyer, you can join as a Professionally Qualified Officer (PQO). You'll continue your professional development, earn a competitive salary and still enjoy the adventurous life the Army offers. PQOs also spend less time at Sandhurst than direct entry officers.
