- £26,334 paRate of pay for soldiers from day 1 in training
- £34,676 paRate of pay for officers while in training at Sandhurst
- £41,456 paRate of pay for officers after training.
You’ll receive an annual review to ensure that you’re able to progress through the ranks – and this means that you’ll unlock higher pay as you progress.
Some Army jobs pay higher than the standard rate of pay. These are typically specialist roles.
Current rates of pay for Soldiers just starting out in these ranks are:
Recruits & Privates: £26,334 a year
Lance Corporal: £34,083 a year
Corporal: £39,565 a year
Sergeant: £44,423 a year

Officer cadets (at Sandhurst): £34,676 per annum
2nd Lieutenant: £41,456 per annum
Captain: £52,815 per annum
Major: £66,240 per annum
